Providing fuel for zero-emission green hydrogen power generators across the UK.
GeoPura™ has selected Green Hydrogen Systems to deliver a total of 17 A180 electrolyser units, which will have a combined capacity of 15.4 MW. These modular, plug-and-play electrolysers will be deployed at the former Higher Marnham coal-fired power station and at another site in Lower Marnham to produce green hydrogen for their hydrogen power units (HPUs) across the UK.
Through these units, GeoPura™ currently provides zero-emission power to Balfour Beatty, HS2, National Grid, the BBC, and many more, replacing traditional diesel generators. The first three units were delivered in 2023: two units to higher Marnham and one to lower Marnham, while the remaining units are scheduled for delivery in 2024. When fully operational, the electrolysers will produce up to 6570 kg of green H2 per day, using grid-supplied renewable power from existing power infrastructure.
A long-term partnership
In addition to delivering the electrolysers, Green Hydrogen Systems will also commission and provide on-site maintenance, remote monitoring, and sustained assistance as part of a multi-year service agreement, ensuring the smooth running of the equipment and maximum efficiency of the electrolyser units.
Green Hydrogen Systems will focus on delivering the remaining electrolyser units for the project in 2024. Furthermore, the partnership between GeoPura™ and Green Hydrogen Systems will continue to mature, focusing on widening the project portfolio to meet the rapidly growing demand for green hydrogen, contributing to cleaner and more sustainable energy in Europe.
