Green Hydrogen Systems (GHS) proudly announces that we fully comply with the new requirements set by the European Hydrogen Bank. The recent regulations, introduced on September 27, 2024, limit the sourcing of more than 25 percent of electrolyser stacks—from surface treatment to cell unit production and stack assembly—from China. The European Commission recently issued a letter providing further clarity on these rules.

Key requirements:

  • Technology type: Advanced electrolysers.
  • Capacity: Specific electrolyser capacity in MWe.
  • Standards compliance: Adhering to all necessary standards.
  • Critical raw materials (CRM): Evaluating the percentage of critical raw materials (as per EU’s fifth list).
  • Sourcing limits: Ensuring no more than 25% of electrolyser stack components are sourced from China.
  • Declaration: Specifying the producing company and manufacturing location.
  • Origin indication: Declaring the origin of electrolyser stacks and percentage manufactured in the EEA.
  • Responsible conduct: Committing to a responsible business code of conduct.
  • Recycling plans: Implementing end-of-life/recycling strategies for electrolysers.
  • Financial transparency: Providing details of foreign financial contributions received over the past 3 years.

Understanding the concerns raised by investors and analysts about the complexities of the supply chain, GHS reassures all stakeholders that we meet these regulatory standards without needing to make any changes to its existing processes.

CEO René Umlauft of Green Hydrogen Systems comments: “We have conducted a thorough review of our supply chain in light of the EU regulations, encompassing our electrode production and assembly in Denmark. We are confident in our full compliance with these new guidelines.

As a leader in the green hydrogen sector, GHS continues to set the standard by exclusively supplying technology to green hydrogen projects globally. This is done in partnership with esteemed companies and organisations across Europe, further solidifying our commitment to delivering sustainable solutions to drive the green energy transition.
